The Interclass Master’s Degree Course (LM5-LM43) in Digital Heritage. Museums, Archives, Libraries (MAB) of the University of Bari Aldo Moro is born and active. This course integrates the scientific tradition in the archival, library and museum fields with computational methodologies applied to innovation for cultural heritage.
The training offer aims to outline innovative professional figures expert both in the enhancement, protection, promotion, conservation and use of the MAB cultural heritage through digitalization and digital creativity and in the digital curation of the new digital cultural heritage. The course of study includes the historical, archival-librarianship, linguistic-literary, legal, historical-artistic, computer science, physical-mathematical fields.
The Interclass intercepts the many new employment needs, expressed both by the various institutional sectors of cultural heritage and by the market segments connected to it. The aim is to create unique professionals with the knowledge and skills adequate to face the challenges of digital transformation, indispensable today to enhance the communicative, informative, educational, and occupational development of the Cultural Heritage. A training course that is currently unique in the national panorama intercepts and relaunches the National Research Plan (PNR) objectives, as defined by the National Strategy of Intelligent Specialization (SNSI).

The course does not include admission tests but only the verification of the access requirements.
In particular, the access to the Interclass Master’s Degree Course in Digital Heritage. Museums, Archives, Libraries are allowed to those who own adequate essential personal preparation and curricular requirements. Precisely, graduates with a three-year degree, or equivalent four-year degree, who have acquired at least 60 ECTS in the following scientific-disciplinary sectors can access it:

ING-INF / 05 Information processing systems;
IUS / 01 Private law;
L-ART / 04 Museology and artistic criticism and restoration;
L-FIL-LET / 04 Latin language and literature;
L-FIL-LET / 08 Medieval and humanistic Latin literature;

L-LIN / 01 Glottology and linguistics;
L-LIN / 04 French language and translation;
L-LIN / 12 English language and translation;
M-FIL / 05 Philosophy and theory of languages;
M-STO / 01 Medieval history;
M-STO / 02 Modern history;
M-STO / 04 Contemporary history,
M-STO / 05 History of science and techniques;
M-STO / 07 History of Christianity;
M-STO / 08 Archival, bibliography and librarianship;
M-STO / 09 Palaeography.
Of these 60 ECTS, students must have achieved at least 6 ECTS in one of the following sectors:

Students must also have adequate language skills corresponding to at least level B1.
The curricular requirements and good personal preparation will be verified and validated by a Commission appointed by the Degree Course Council. The titles of any courses will also be evaluated, particularly to students’ requests (foreigners, EU citizens and non-EU citizens).
The educational offer is not limited to courses in canonical form. Influential figures in the world of Humanities are holding seminars that deepen debate issues in the digital cultural scenario. The lessons have started with the game designer Fabio Viola, on the 25th November 2021, who gave an exciting speech entitled “INTERACTIVE CULTURES OF THE XXI CENTURY.”
On 25/11/2021, from 2.00 pm, Prof. Francesco Piero Paolicelli will hold a “Masterclass on open data and culture”.
The appointments will continue on the 7th December at 2.00 pm with the archaeologist Elisa Bonacini and on the 21st December at 2.00 pm with the Superintendent “Archives and Library” Lombardy section Prof. Annalisa Rossi.
